Characteristics of the data center

Kazteleport Data Center is a reliable technological data center built taking into account the best engineering approaches and practices. Uninterrupted operation of server and network equipment of customers is carried out by means of two data centers (main and backup) located in Almaty and Astana. The data centers are built in accordance with international standards of reliability and meet all requirements for availability and security of server and telecommunication equipment.

The data center engineering infrastructure consists of two main systems:

A data availability system that includes the following:

• Power supply of the data center is based on the principle of double redundancy of power supply. Uninterrupted power supply of the data center is provided by two independent uninterrupted power supply sources, as well as by a diesel generator set designed to ensure operation of the data center equipment in the absence of an external power supply network.
• Refrigeration of the data center is based on a minimum of three precision air conditioners. Cooling capacity of two air conditioners is enough to cool all server and telecommunication equipment installed in the hermetic zone. Supply of cooled air to server and telecommunication equipment (including uninterruptible power supplies) is carried out by means of perforated raised floor slabs. Air intake, heated by the installed equipment, is carried out directly by the air conditioning equipment, without the use of ducts. The air temperature in the room is 22° ± 2°C. Remote monitoring subsystem – is based on the availability of the possibility of constant control of all the main parameters of all subsystems in real time mode with sending notifications to e-mail. Monitoring is carried out via SNMP protocol.
• Mechanical subsystem – includes raised floor system, cable management system, piping and ducting system, drainage system, antistatic coating, etc.

Data security system:

• Access control and management system is necessary to organize authorized access of employees (service personnel) to the data center premises and prevent access of unauthorized persons.
• Security alarm system.
• Fire alarm system.
• Automatic gas fire extinguishing system. Khladon-227” is used as a gas extinguishing agent with the possibility of forming a signal to the central monitoring station.
• System of automatic removal of gas-smoke mixture.
• In accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations, regular preventive maintenance of the engineering infrastructure equipment is carried out.
